A Clear Path Forward
Accountability + Integrity + Transparency = Excellence in Education & Community Partnership
Accountability
- Ensure responsible use of every taxpayer dollar by implementing quarterly budget reviews and publishing easy-to-read financial dashboards for residents and taxpayers.
- Set measurable cost-saving targets while ensuring that at least 75–80% of the budget is directed toward classroom instruction, student services, and teacher support.
- Conduct annual third-party financial audits and present findings in open sessions to ensure spending aligns with community expectations.
Integrity
- Lead with honesty and fairness by establishing a code of ethics review at the beginning of every board year, with signed compliance from all board members.
- Require public disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest before votes are cast on contracts, hiring, or curriculum vendors.
- Adopt performance evaluation rubrics for board initiatives, so decisions can be measured by outcomes (e.g., improved test scores, reduced absenteeism, balanced budgets).
Transparency
- Open the doors of the school board by publishing meeting agendas and budget proposals at least 7 days before each meeting.
- Introduce a digital “open data portal” with metrics on student achievement, finances, staffing, and operations updated quarterly.
- Create a biannual “State of the Schools” report card to track progress toward district goals, shared at public forums and online.
Excellence in Education
- Strengthen academic programs by setting specific targets, raise high school graduation rates and improve college/career readiness indicators (AP participation, Career & Technical Education (CTE) enrollment, internships).
- Support educators through professional development benchmarks, minimum of 20 hours of annual training per teacher aligned to student learning needs.
- Establish annual reviews of curriculum effectiveness, measuring not only test scores but also student engagement and teacher feedback.
Township Partnership
- Build stronger connections between the school district and the community by holding quarterly town halls and parent-teacher forums.
- Launch a “WTPS Partnership Scorecard” to track parent engagement, volunteerism, senior internship, business partnerships, and student extracurricular participation, with annual growth targets.
- Develop periodic surveys (at least twice per year) for parents, teachers, and students to evaluate satisfaction and gather actionable feedback.
